It comes with 15/16″(that’s fifteen 16ths of an INCH) staples that are 23 gauge by 23mm (millimeters) long. (23mm is about 15/16″). To get other depth sizes of staples, you must make sure that first number (the gauge) is 23. I’ll attach a picture of ones I got off Amazon that work well. For example, the 23/10 staples are 23 gauge and 10mm long. As other reviewers mentioned, you have to press down fast and firm to get it to go clear through your stack. As the manufacturers video shows, put a pencil back under the throat of the stapler to get a straggler staple out when changing sizes or if you get a jammed staple.
