Great quality from 7Felicity. This smaller sized travelers journal is super sharp looking. Thick cut, full grain leather embodies this refillable journal, and the coloring is fantastic. I love the distressed look of the brown color. The metal pen clip is great and comes in really handy, and they also even include an extra/spare refill notebook. I also purchased the larger version of this journal TWICE. Just because I love them that much. This journal looks even better in person! I was very pleasantly surprised when I received this item, and I’m happy I’ll be able to use it for years to come.Some people have said the closure can be difficult to open and close the journal. I disagree. I think this is a nicely added touch as opposed to some other journals that have an elastic band closure to keep the journal closed. With those types, I find they sort of leave an indent on the leather from the pressure of the elastic binding it closed. I also don’t find myself having a difficult time opening and closing this journal with the closure this book has. I feel the closure keeps this book securely closed, and extremely easy to open and close again.Also, with this type of leather, there are going to be surface marks as you use it and break it in. I happen to like this distressed look that happens over time. If you’re not one of those types of people who favor this appearance though, then you can simply get rid of the “scratch marks” by using a leather conditioner/treatment. They will disappear. Truth is, all leather will have markings on it. Leather is a natural product. Naturally, it will develop its own unique markings/patina over time.I only recently got in to the whole “refillable” journal thing, and can’t believe it took me this long to discover there even was such a thing. Other companies are selling these journals as well, but I’ll stick with 7Felicity. After purchasing this one, I ordered the large one, and it is equally as beautiful. And the large one also comes with an extra notebook of paper. The plastic card holder that’s included also comes in very handy for storing cards, notes, and other things of that size. I see some people also don’t favor this liner. You can easily remove it if you don’t happen to like it. Personally, I think it’s a nice added touch, and I keep the plastic holder in there, just incase I happen to need it for something. I don’t find it to interfere with anything, but if there is a time where I don’t want it in there, it’s nice to know I can easily remove it.Trust, you won’t be disappointed with this item. It came packaged beautifully, and is definitely top notch in quality. The leather isn’t thin or shammy. It’s thick, yet pliable. Rugged and distressed in appearance. Definitely everything I was hoping it would be and then some! I almost don’t want to write in it because I want to keep it brand new as long as I can! Thankfully, you can purchase replacement books, so you’ll be able to have this book to enjoy for years upon years to come! I believe they also included an extra elastic rope with this journal as well just incase one snaps.. Which I don’t picture happening, but it’s nice to know it’s there just incase.Like I said, I enjoyed this brand so much, I now have 3 of their journals total. 2 large, and 1 of these. I may even purchase a second one of these smaller ones! Overall, better than I expected, and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys writing, traveling and writing, sketching, etc. These are great books! I feel extremely lucky to have 3 of them!
